Arango House, also known as Casa Marbrisa, is a residential house in Acapulco, Mexico, that was designed and built by John Lautner in 1973. It is the only house Lautner ever built in Mexico. It is considered one of the most extraordinary residential buildings of the 20th century.[1]

Arango House was commissioned in 1970 by Jerónimo Arango, a Mexican businessman, as a weekend house for his family. He had read reports about Lautners Elrod House built in 1968 and wanted a holiday home built by Lautner as architect and Arthur Elrod as interior designer. Helena Arahuete, a Belgian who had been hired by Lautner's company a while before, participated in the design of the house. Today Arango House is owned by the Arango family.
Design edit
As a number of other houses built by Lautner, Arango House is classified as organic architecture, an architectural style established by Frank Lloyd Wright. The two-storey building is built upon a steeply sloping, 2300 m² property above the bay of Acapulco. WEITERMACHEN
