Aluminum titanium nitride silicide (Al0.2Ti0.65NSi0.15) is used as a hard coating resistant to oxidation on tools. The same applies to titanium nitride silicide, however these are not chemical compounds, but mixtures of nanocrystalline titanium nitride, and titanium silicide.[1]

Uranium silicide-nitride is used as reactor fuel.
