Early life

edit

Ariana Willow Raykotto was born in Wisconsin on April 17, 2005. She grew up in Kenosha, Wisconsin, with 2 siblings.

Career

edit

2015-2017: Live group performances

edit

In November 2015, she got scouted by local talent agency CK Entertainment and put into a live performance titled "Annual Winter" with 4 other kids. Annual Winter was a concert that happened in December, it ran from December 2015 until the final show in December 2020. Ariana performed in all 5 performances, most kids originally scouted in 2015 were 9-12 and the show was canceled after 2020 because of COVID-19 as well as the kids were too old, now being 14-17, Ariana was 15 at the time of the final show.

2018-2019: Canceled debut album

edit

In October 2018, while CK Entertainment was getting the Annual Winter cast together and starting rehearsal, CK Entertainment head and founder Carly Krew began working with Raykotto on an album. The plan was CK Entertainment would help record it and fund the production, songwriters and cover art production and the rest would be handled by and self-released by the Raykotto family. Krew and Raykotto began recording for the album into January 2019 when Raykotto's family backed out due to her only being 13, nearly 14, and the album was canceled.

2020: Musical beginnings and final performance

edit

In February 2020, Raykotto assisted her friend in recording a cover of "September" by Earth, Wind & Fire. Later in December 2020, she performed with Annual Winter for the final time, after that show Annual Winter was canceled because the cast was too old, at the time she was 15.

2021-2022: HOLLYWOOD and Love Box

edit

In October 2021, her and one of her friends who also performed on Annual Winter got signed to a small Kenosha label Drowsy Records. She released her debut studio album HOLLYWOOD on December 23, 2021, via Drowsy Records[1]. The album was released to Bandcamp and to YouTube with no success, 2 music videos for the songs "Club" and "Gett" were released to Raykotto's YouTube and were later removed. Throughout 2022, Raykotto uploaded various songs to YouTube. In November 2022, she formed a girl group duo named The Cattails. On December 27, 2022, without any announcement, she released her second album Love Box via Toledo Records[2]. She had silently signed to Toledo Records in October 2022 after her contract with Drowsy Records expired.

2023: Leftover Lasagna, Nothing Lasts Forever and controversies

edit

On March 31, 2023, her duo The Cattails released the single "Show Me How"[3]. Raykotto and The Cattails both released an album via Closet Records on July 23, 2023, Leftover Lasagna[4] and Nothing Lasts Forever[5], respectfully. On August 19, 2023, she made an account for a video sharing website called BitView[6]. On September 21, 2023, an Encyclopedia Dramatica about Raykotto was made, it detailed her alleged crush on controversial Internet personality Christine Chandler who allegedly molested her mother in 2021. On November 17, 2023, after getting in an argument with BitView moderator Kazuya he researched some of her songs and found out her cover of "Genie In a Bottle" by Christina Aguilera was created by artificial intelligence, this caused her to cancel her upcoming album Surreal Serenade, which she admitted was AI[7], after apologizing not much happened regarding the AI outing. On November 27, 2023, the AI rumors resurfaced and Raykotto was facing major backlash inside of the BitView community and people were accusing her of manufacturing drama and creating the Encyclopedia Dramatica page about herself. On November 29, 2023, Raykotto was banned from using BitView, according to one of the owners it was because she needed time to herself and he also claimed that because the username of the account that made the page and one of her old usernames were the same that she made the Encyclopedia Dramatica page. She moved to a rival video site titled EraCast and since many of the same people used it she received backlash for a while after the BitView banning but it eventually settled. Near the end of 2023 Raykotto created a fake BitView and Bandcamp account under the alias "Scarlet Fighter", even though she had since been unbanned from BitView, it is speculated she did this so she could be taken seriously for her music and not be seen as the AI girl, as in the BitView community she had gained the nickname "AI Britney" since she used a Britney Spears artificial intelligence voice template, there hasn't been any activity on the Bandcamp and only one BitView video was made and it was celebrating New Years, uploaded on December 31, 2023.

2024-present: Musical hiatus and founding of CatLii

edit

On December 26, 2023, her and 3 online users known as JR, Fedora441 and Epic52 founded a video sharing site named CatLii and bought the domain www.CatLii.net, the site is a remake of VidLii. On December 31, 2023, JR, who had bought the domain, quit working on the site and took the domain. On January 2, 2024, they welcomed a new developer known as Sh0rk, who bought the new domain CatLii.xyz.
