Sarojini Jayaraman was a woman of exemplary courage and determination. She was born in a small village in T.S District of Tamilnadu. She died at the ripe age of 85 on 27th January 2010.
She was the wife of Late Er. T.M.A Jayaraman, popularly known as Rowdy Jayaraman in P.W.D dept. of Tamilnadu. He retired as a superintendent Engineer in 80's.
They were married by the modern system of wedding called as "seer thirutha kalyanam" practiced by the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. The marriage was conducted in the presence of C.N. Annadurai. As her husband was an active member of the D.M.K party, she has had the privilege of hosting and serving the party members when they visited Cheyyar while the party was in its initial stages.
She is the first cousin of Babu Janarthanam, ex-MLA of Cheyyar, a close family friend of Pulavar K. Govindan and Retd. Supreme Court Justice Rathnavel Pandiyan.
