Music
editSome Never Sleep's music is a blend of many different influences and styles. Often using three guitars, their music is described as "full" and "busy". The band has a strong focus on melody, often intertwining multiple guitar and vocal melodies at once.
History
editSome Never Sleep was formed in early 2006. Their first show was played in May of 2006 at The Brickhouse in Phoenix, Arizona with their original line up featuring Nick Whitaker (Vocals), Jeff Tretta (Guitar), Travis Laux (Guitar/Keyboard/Programming), Kyle Greenwood (Guitar), Nick Monroy (Bass), and Josh Cutler (Drums). They recorded a three song demo including: "Wallflower's Dance", "Letters", and "A Heart So Abruptly Stopped" at The Conservatory of Recording Arts[1] in Tempe, Arizona. This line up continued until November 2006. At this time, the band parted with Nick Whitaker and Jeff Tretta. Matthew Romero was brought in to fulfill lead vocal and guitar duties[2]. In early 2007, Kyle Greenwood was replaced by Scott Ewing and the band recorded a demo with this line up consisting of the songs "Negative Increment" and "Martyr". Soon after, Kevin Birmingham replaced Nick Monroy on bass. The current line up played their first show on August 24, 2007 at The Cell Block in Gilbert, Arizona. Also in August 2007, the band entered Villain Studios[3] and recorded their debut EP with Byron Filson. The EP was released in mid-September of 2007.
The Villain EP

The EP showcased the band's aggressive sound mixed with melodic structures and electronic programming. The EP was released in mid-September of 2007. The EP received favorable reviews.
