Skiathos Island

edit

Skiathos (a.k.a. Sciathos) is the first of Sporades islands with exceptional beauty and more than enough deep blue beaches (60+) to explore.

Skiathos has everything... high bleached white cliffs, fine golden sand beaches backed by pine forests; water sports, scuba diving, elegant and cosmopolitan nightlife... all at under the best Mediterranean weather.

The island is 12 kilometers long and 9 kilometers wide. There is only one large settlement: Hora (Skiathos Town) and approximately 5,000 residents. The main road is 14 kilometers long and connects Skiathos Town to the well-known Koukounaries beach.

During your stay, try a boat tour (from the old port) around the island, or for a day trip to the rest of North Sporades islands Skopelos and Alonissos. Last but not least, don't miss the chance to visit the famous marine park of Northern Sporades the 'home' of the Mediterranean seal (Monachus Monachus).

By arriving @Skiathos, the imposing seafront captures the eye... Then comes the sandy south coast that stretches along - just like a paradise!
