George V. (Bill) Magklaras (Γεώργιος Β. Μαγκλάρας) is a Greek born computer scientist involved in the fields of insider misuse (information security), bioinformatics, domain specific languages and High Performance Computing. He is the Secretary and President of the Technical Project Management Committee (TMPC) of EMBnet and an Affiliate Member of IEEE. He was educated at the School of Mathematics and Computing at the University of Plymouth UK, where he gained BSc (Hons) and MPhil degrees. He is currently employed by the Biotechnology Centre of Oslo, a research establishment at the University of Oslo in Norway.

He is the author of the insider misuse tools LUARM and ITPSL and has contributed to the development, use and dissemination of the bioinformatics packages EMBOSS and MRS.
