In dispute resolution, I prefer working with "alternative dispute resolution" techniques in which I have received some formal training. Ideally I seek to achieve conciliation through a win-win solution, but I cannot always promise such an outcome (sorry!).

Below are some disputes that I managed to resolve, at least temporarily:

  • Occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany. See Wikipedia:Votes for deletion/German military occupation of Norway during World War II for details.
  • Jerusalem. I have expanded the article with more neutral content, moving the opinions to a sub-article. I received a barnstar from a Palestinian participant, proving that there are lots of positive forces around Wikipedia even for an extremely contested article. We only have to work according to our principles. Encouraged by this experience, I have been active in reorganizing other extremely contested articles, notably Israel and Israeli settlement, getting more positive reactions from all participants. Cheers to en.wikipedia and its community!!!
  • Resolving a hot dispute at Amnon Yitzhak between two of our better contributors.
  • I managed to get rid of the POV tag at the hotly contested Mormonism and Judaism article after a name change, drastic changes and a previous bitter dispute. Things are very quiet now around that page. I have solved similar POV issues in other articles.
  • I have been quite active in this field also at the Dutch Wikipedia.

I can be called upon for assistance with disputes between (groups of) contributors, preferably around content from the social sciences (in the very broad sense, including history, geography and current affairs).
