The Italian American story is really quite beautiful, and I believe it deserves to be told accurately and intelligibly. The story stands on its own merits, and does not have to be embellished with a lot of nonessential details, which only detracts from its readability.

I believe the average reader of the article will want a digest, rather than an exhaustive compendium, of the Italian American experience. On the other hand, for the scholar, the article should be complete enough to provide a good starting point for further research using the references and reading list provided at its end. I believe that balancing both needs should be the objective in the further development of the article. Philantonia (talk) 17:03, 11 February 2015 (UTC)
