Introduction:

There is not much written on FanuelJariretunduKozonguizi. I so believe he was a great man and contributed greatly to this country. I like what Matthew //Gowaseb say about him (as cited in Katjavivi, 1988, p. 4), Fanuel was one of Namibia’s first nationalist politicians and certainly one of its best educated. As an intellectual with a fine legal mind, he used his talent over a long period to further the independence of Namibia wherever possible. Referring to Matthew //Gowaseb (2007), a brief lool at his life:

Born in Windhoek on 26 January 1932, FanuelJariretunduKozonguizi completed high school in Warmbad in the Transvaal (now the Gauteng province), South Africa, and went on to study in that country at Fort Hare and Rhodes Universities, graduating from the latter in 1956 with a BA in History and Psychology. In 1958, the Herero Chiefs’ council appointed Kozonguizi as its permanent petitioner to the UN in New York, replacing Rev Michael Scott. From 1959 to 1966 he spent part of his time in New York, trying to find ways to SWAPO and SWANU to work together. The Government of Namibia appointed him as Namibia’s first full time Ombudsman, a post he assumed in May 1992 and held until his death on 5 April 1995. (p. 85)
