Security Shield is a rogue antivirus program from the same family as System Tool and Security Tool. Once installed, it will supposedly scan your computer for spyware, adware, trojans and other malware. Of course, it will find numerous infections and then will force you to pay for a full version of Security Shield in order to remove non-existent infections. This fake security program will also display fake alerts and notifications stating that your computer is in under attack or that your sensitive information can be stolen.

It may redirect you to misleading and malicious websites and even display porn pop-ups on your screen.

Security Shield is a scareware that uses misleading methods to trick users into purchasing their useless program.

  • Attempts to remove Security Shield are useless and have been reported to be unsuccessful as it reinstalls automatically.
  • Simply uninstalling it may remove surface traces of Security Shield, but it is adept at hiding in your system registry and replicating after removal attempts.
  • Security Shield, like most rogue security software, is not a virus and it is designed to evade detection and removal efforts of a legitimate antivirus program.
