Sometimes it depresses me that Wikipedia is not only my primary but often sole source of information. All of the rest of the time I am extremely grateful that somewhere with such vast a wealth of information exists and is free. Holding that thought, I find it greatly amusing that you read on the donation pages people donating sometimes hundreds of dollars and thanking Wikipedia for being free. For me, Wikimedia is up there with the greatest inventions of modern time.
