RE: a (+4) change to FSU disambiguation page

Dear user at IP address 61.18.190.15:

First, my reason for the change, on August 10, 2012, to the FSU disambiguation page, as stated in the edit summary, is a "Good faith revert of edit(s) by 61.18.190.15 using STiki". This is because the previous version is more likely than not more expressive of the intent of the version previously discussed and the terms on the disambiguation page than the (+4) change you advocate. See the March 22 and 23, 2010 discussion between Labattblueboy (talk) and Sirberus (talk) on the issue of Post-Soviet States, which was kept in the see also section. See WP:ES and WP:D.

Second, people on Wikipedia can disagree, in good faith, over changes. See WP:AGF.

Third, my edit to the FSU disambiguation page is a (+4) change. See FSU: Revision history.

Fourth, if you feel that strongly about a (+4) change to the FSU disambiguation page, then if you want to edit, reorder the list, or even add the letter "a" to the FSU disambiguation page, then edit and feel free to enjoy the feeling of a job well done. That’s what Wikipedia is about. See WP:SOP and WP:FivePillars.

Fifth, a user, who uses language such as "unlike you I will assume good faith," does not generate consensus. See WP:CONS.

Six, my question, about you using an IP address as your signature, comes from the issue that multiple users could be using that IP address and I sought clarification. If a user uses a unique user name, instead of an IP address, then a user can receive accolades that the user so richly deserves. Please consider a using a unique user name. See WP:WCAA.

Perhaps we should work together to make great articles with good cites and find common ground. See WP:Tea.

My thoughts on the response but I am concerned that I am reaching the point of diminishing returns. As I point out, I do not have a dog in this fight, but Sirberus and Labattblueboy do.

Dear user at IP address 61.18.190.15:

Seventh, rest assured, "your opinion is valued and I respect it", as Sirberus said to Labattblueboy on the talk page. I have heard and understand the issues you raised and act in an appropriate manner.

Eighth,if you want to modify the previous version discussed and created by past consensus, reached by Labattblueboy and Sirberus, on the issue of FSU, then you become an Interested Person. That is what Wikipedia is about.

Ninth, however, a user, who uses language such as "unproductive", "requirement", "ridiculous", "prejudice", "bullied", over one edit on a disambiguation page does not generate consensus. I did not intend for you to see the edit as anything but a good faith edit as illustrated by the introductory paragraph in WP:BRD.

Tenth, there is no requirement to use a user name. I typed "Please consider" concerning this issue. I even typed "Thanks" in the original statement. To combine and paraphrase two quotes, you are not a number or IP address; you are a human being with hopes, dreams, and access to an internet connection that will take you airborne; free to edit on Wikipedia.

Let us agree to end this discussion and work together to make Wikipedia better and find common ground. Cheers. Geraldshields11 (talk) 14:30, 17 August 2012 (UTC)
