Main Article: Intradermal injection

A tuberculin sensitivity test being administered intradermally.

In an Intradermal Injection, the medication is delivered directly into the dermis. Compared to subcutaneous and intramuscular injections, absorption takes the longest from this route. Because of this, intradermal injection are often used for sensitivity tests, like tuberculin and allergy tests, and local anesthesia.
