Urbanrail.net is a widely cited railfan site.[1] Site founder, Robert Schwandl, is the author of multiple transit related books.[2][3][4][5][6][7]
In 1995 Schwandl started a site documenting detailing the rapid transit systems of Barcelona.[8] By 1997 he had added documentation of all the rapid transit systems in Europe. By 1999 he had added documentation of rapid transit systems around the world.
