User:Geo Swan/Christie, Brown & Co. stables

In 1906 the Toronto firm of Christie, Brown & Co., which operated a factory at Frederick and Adelaide streets, opened the Christie, Brown & Co. stables at 93 and 95 Berkeley. The main factory has been demolished, but the former stables have been converted into offices, and Toronto Preservation Board recommended to Toronto City Council that the structure should be designated an historic structure.[1] The recommendation was triggered by plans to redevelop the site of the stables, which did not take into account its historic nature.[2] http://www.toronto.ca/legdocs/mmis/2014/te/bgrd/backgroundfile-66247.pdf
