The 2018 Beni ambush was an armed assault carried out by militants from the Allied Democratic Forces insurgent group on a joint UN-FARDC anti-insurgent contingent patrolling the area of Kididiwe, near the Congolese city of Beni. The ambush left eight UN peacekeepers and 12 Congolese soldiers dead and 10 UN peacekeepers wounded. It was the deadliest attack on UN forces in the Democratic Republic of the Congo since the 2017 Semuliki attack 11 months earlier.
