Gareth Ernest Lane was born in 1971, Margate, Kent to Ivan and Linda Lane
He is married to Jenny Lane (m.11th Jan 1997) and they have 4 children
He started out his career in Computer Networking before altering tack and becoming a Church of England Vicar, he has been Community Vicar for Berryfields since January 2014
Together with Jenny they are leaders for Church on Berryfields

Early schooling was at Margate Salmestone Primary, before moving in 1982 to St George's Church of England Foundation School and then 1987 Chatham House Grammar School for Sixth Form
After this, in 1989 he moved to High Wycombe aged 18 and attended Bucks College of Higher Education now called Buckinghamshire New University to undertake a BTEC HND in Business Information Technology
Completing this there were various jobs at Federal Express and Tricom before moving to Ricmond, Surrey and signing on in 1993 to the final year of a BSc degree at University of Westminster which saw him getting a First Class Honours
Later on, he completed an MSc in Missional Leadership with University of Wales graduating in 2006 before going onto study at Wycliffe Hall, Oxford in 2008 for Ordination to the Church of England
