The Safed 1834 plunder, pogrom, massacre.
On June 15, 1834 [1], rioters went on a rampage, massacre [2] [3], mass-rape [4] on Jews in Safed Palestine (Israel).
It was during the Druze revold against Ibrahim Pasha of Egypt [5], the joined Muslims-Druze mob were using the defenseless Jews as scapegoats.
The inciter, a self proclaimed Islamic "prophet" Muhammad Damoor [6], "foresaw" the massacre which he agitated to. From his "prophecies":
"the true Believers would rise up in just wrath against the Jews, and despoil them of their gold, and their silver, and their jewels." [7]
The pogrom, went on for 33 days it was repeated in 1838.[8]. It is not clear how many exactly died, but historians assert the number is "high."
