History
editThe menace - The early days
editCrisix started in Igualada, Spain on February of 2008 under the name of Crysys, as soon as the band became more notorious, Sony threatened them with a lawsuit because of copyright issues and had to change the bands name to Crisix [6][7][8].
«Dead by the fistful of violence» was their first demo song recorded at l'Akord's Studio in Igualada, which later was included in the compilation CD Spain Kills[9][10] and released under the record label Xtreem Music. In December of the same year, Crisix recorded two more songs, «Internal Pollution» and «Mummified by society» which ended being their first self-released demo tape, Demonsthrashion[11][12], which they submitted to the Wacken Open Air Metal Battle Spain 2009, winning[13] and making their way to Germany to play in the final contest of Wacken Open Air metal battle, where they competed along with 19 bands from around the globe and winning by the majority of votes from the jury[14][15]. The award was a record deal with Wackend records. The band played back again in Wacken Open Air 2010 at the Wet Stage.[16]
As result of winning the Wacken battle, in early 2010 Crisix started working with producer Waldemar Sorychta for pre-producing their first album that was recorded in Axtudio, Barcelona, and mixed and mastered at Borgentreich Stage One studio in Germany. They released their debut album "The Menace" in 2011. "Ultra thrash", the first single became a hit in the underground scene, where it reached over 3 million YouTube views really fast, resulting in one of their most demanded song in their shows. They started touring with Bonded by Blood, Warbringer and performed at Resurrection Fest festival for the first time.
