Hello all
editMy name is Guss, and I am an attorney in North Texas. I have been a part-time contributor to wikipedia about since it was born, but have never felt the need to open an account-- until now.
Wikipedia has more helpful links and information on some of the software I use, such as Maxathon, than anywhere else. It sure is convenient when I need something just to jump to the wikipedia page and get the answer I need, or a link to it.
About a year ago I noticed that some of the information I had come to rely on for one of those programs, Ecco, started to disappear from the wiki article. I found the information elsewhere, and helpfully I thought, added it back in to the article.
I don't think it lasted 30 seconds.
Since then I've tried to stay clear of the ecco article, but recently we ugraded to Windows 7 and I needed the download link for the program. Imagine my surprise when I found that the link was removed, and there has been some kind of 'hack' warefare going on over the article.
That has forced me to leave behind my carefree days of IP anonymity and open an "official" account.
If anyone wants to talk with me on the phone, I am happy to pass out our office phone number.
Nice to meet you.
Guss
