CRIMES IN NAMIBIA
editCrimes is a serious misconduct that a person commits.There are different type of crimes in Namibia,this Include political crimes,social crimes, economical crimes.Social crime these are crimes that happens in Namibia especilly at the northen part, basically this crimes Include,murder,Woman and Child abuse.etc
Causes of Crimes in Namibia
editSoome of the factors that causes crime "this includes socio-eeconomic factors such as poverty, Alcoholisim and Drug abuse.[1]
"The high unemployment rate and the thoughtless abolition of deterrent measures like corporal punishment and the death sentence. Moral decay took root immediately with the declaration of this republic as a secular State, despite the fact that this country is the most Christianised on the African continent".[2]
Crimes that are being committed in Namibia
editCrime have been a top story Within Namibian medias. Such Incidents have been against the namibian people as well as foreigners, you find that most of the people that commit crimes are street vendors, this people commit crimes such as, Rape, house breaking, and many more. Windhoek have been Indentified as one the City where such crimes happens. Despite Namibia having low population, still the number of crimes continues to increase every year. "The most common crimes are property-motivated crimes of opportunity, including pick-pocketing, purse snatching, vehicle theft". "Such crimes most commonly occur in the central business districts of cities and other Namibian towns which are frequently visited by foreign tourists". [3] Windhoek[katutura have been discoverd that is the most location in Windhoek which have the highest Crime rate, such as fighting, stabbing and house breaking.[4] Furthermore there are crimes that are happening at the northen part of Namibia and at the southern part of Namibia which are categorise as social crimes.
What do we need to do as Namibian's to prevent crimes
editThe Government of Namibia have come up with ways and means on how they are going to eradicate crime in Namibia. The Government does this in away that they set up talk shows where by each namibian comment on crime in namibia.There are also campaigns that are being run by certain organisations such as MVA Namibia, this campains theey try to adress the public about different crimes in Namibia. Certain Namibian Artist have also dedicated themselve singing music on how crime such as drink and driving have to be stopped.[5] Furthermore there are crimes that are happening at the northen part of Namibia and at the southern part of Namibia which are categorise as social crimes.
