OKATOPE VILLAGE
editOkatope village is a place situated in Ohangwena region and it is a most populated place in the whole region.Okatope is characterized by dwellings, school, church and other facilities operated by a religious group for the purpose of providing charitable services and to propagate religion.There are many small villages surrounding this village such as Okelemba, Oitando , Onaame, Okadila and many more.
There are two schools in our village named Okatope Junior Secondary school from grade 8-10, the school is provided with all education needs and is were people can find a Library to search for all the information they are looking for. There is also a primary school started from grade 1-7 called Mandume Primary school and is learners of small age are getting their education needs, as schools are well equipped.
There is also a clinic called Okatope clinic were sick people go to receive medical assistance, is were people get tested for HIV/Aids, there are enough Nurses to provide the service and also enough equipments to provide the community with better services. There is a big Church in the village were most people especially Sunday came to hear the voice of God and to praise the Almighty. People from different surrounding areas also usually come to attend the church ceremony.
However, there are still negative aspects such as flood, drought and crime that affect aspects people living there. Even though this aspects prevent the community from achieving their goals, they do not give up, they are very much strong on how to overcome that all too well and make the village to look good as usual.
