User:Finch daisyspoon/Why Every Wikipedian Should Contribute To Local Articles

Hey you. Yes you. Search up the name of your town right now (unless you live in some really big town like New York or London) and go deeper into the articles. Find a stub? Find a red link? Chances are, as a resident of the area, you know enough to expand or create that article.

This finch is mad at you because you don't contribute to local articles

Ever play the random article game and find an article about some place in rural China that only has one sentence? Do you live in a rural village where the Wikipedia article only has one sentence? If not, one source? Linkrot? Edit that article until it turns into an acceptable Start class article. Or better, if you are so ambitious.

What if you do not contribute to local articles

I'm pretty uncertain about Uncertain.

Let's say you live in Uncertain, Texas. Let's say you are the only wikipedian out of the 85 residents. And you focus on something useless, like blocking vandals. Well, guess what? The article will be so stubby and outdated that people will become uncertain about Uncertain. You don't want that to happen, don't you? So go and edit a local article now!
