EARLY LIFE

Born in an aristrocratic family in the princely state of Wadhwan, Vipul's initial years were spent in a military school in Dehradun, before his family shifted to the industrial town of Vapi where his father worked in one of the companies. After completing schooling, Vipul went to Madras to study engineering and that is where the filmi bug bit him. His college was situated in Kodambakkam what is famously known as the hollywood of the south. College became a distant dream because he was spending more time in the studios then in college. He even worked as a junior artiste in a lot of Tamil films before quitting studies all together and joining the Indian Navy.

Life in the Navy was one big adventure and that is where Vipul became a man from a boy. After serving with distinction onboard the missile frigate INS GOMATI, Vipul acquired a pre-mature discharge as by that time he had decided to persue film making as a career.

He assisted Mr.Manjul Sinha who too was a Sainik School alumni and learned the ropes of film making right from the concept to the telecast stage. After about 5 years association with Manjul, he was ready to branch out on his own.

His first film IQBAL created waves and won him many allocades. By that time John Mathan had signed him up for a two movies deal. A Love Iissstory, a romantic comedy staring Himesh Reshamiya is already in the completion stage. Pre-Production for the second movie is underway. Meanwhile Vipul signed a tv serial being produced by Miditech for a new channel being bankrolled by Turner Corp. The channel is going live sometime in March 09.

Other Talents and achievements

A keen sportsman, Vipul has represented the Navy in the inter-services shooting competions. Skilled at hand to hand combat, Vipul is a very good swimmer and a diver too. During his tenure in the Navy, Vipul was a member of the IPKF during the sri-lanka conflict and was mentioned in despatches for service beyond the call of the duty. He was also a member of Operation Cactus (Maldives Operation).

Apart from writing for films and televesions, Vipul runs a successfull business as a recruitment consultant to various IT/ITES companies like WIPRO, Aditya Birla MINACS, J.P. Morgan Chase, SITEL, STREAM etc. He also is in the process launching a web based business.
