Open Access in Chad; Researchers from Chad publish articles in international Open Access journals, for example six articles have been published with BioMed Central – an STM (Science, Technology and Medicine) publisher which has pioneered the Open Access publishing model – by researchers from Department of Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Sciences, University Institute of Sciences and Techniques of Abeche, Faculté de Médécine Teilhard de Chardin, National Malaria Control Programme and UNICEF.
Two articles have been published in Public Library of Science (PLoS) international Open Access journals: PLoS ONE and PLoS Medicine by researchers from Laboratoire de Recherches Vétérinaires et Zootechniques de Farcha and Ministère de la Santé Publique.
As indicated by OA policy registries such as ROARMAP, there is a need for the establishment and implementation of OA policies at the national and institutional levels.
