Kyewalabye Male David is a Ugandan Executive, the Managing director of Buganda Land Board. [1] In the last 20 years, he has served Buganda kingdom in various capacities, as Chief Executive Officer of Buganda Cultural and Development Foundation (BUCADEF),[2] [3] Royal Treasurer to the Kabaka of Buganda[4] and Managing Director of Buganda Land Board.[5] [6]
Early life and Education
editKyewalabye was born in 1969 in Mityana District in the Central Region of Uganda, to Fredrick Male and Sylvia Nalule. He attended Kiweesa Church of Uganda Primary School, Mityana Public School, Matale Boarding School, Kasubi Church of Uganda Primary School, Kakoma Secondary School and City High School. He joined Makerere University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Library and Information Science. He holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management, a Diploma in Project Management and a Master of Science Degree in Management and Implementation of Development Projects from the University of Manchester.[7]
Career
editKyewalabye started his career at The High Court of Uganda as a Consulting Librarian. He proceeded to Ndejje University and was its first Chief University Librarian.[7] He joined Buganda Cultural and Development Foundation (BUCADEF) in 1995, an Organisation under the patronage of the Kabaka of Buganda, and became its Chief Executive Officer in 2001.[8] He served as the Royal Treasurer to the Kabaka of Buganda from 2003 to 2007 when he joined Buganda Land Board as its Executive Secretary.[9] He is the Managing Director of Buganda Land Board.[10]
