INTRODUCTION:

The Oshakati City, also known as FNB Oshakati City due to sponsorship reasons, is a Namibian football (soccer) club from Oshakati. They use to play in the country's highest division, the Namibia Premier League but they got relegated last season (2010/11). Oshakati is based in Oshakati city in the northern part of the country.The club have a huge sponsorship backing by First National Bank of Namibia and a local business tycoon Benjamen (Kagau-B.H) Hauwanga the owner of the BH Group of Companies operating in Namibia and Angola.The club colors are red and white.

Brief history about Oshakati City:

In February 1966, this was the year this fantastic football club was found, it took this team not more than 5 years after the foundation, for it to make it into the premier league, which is the NFA. Since then, the team has produced positive results over and over many seasons. They have never picked up the NFA trophy but has always been a threat to all the other contestants, as they show potential in them.

Even though, this team has 3 silver medals of the top country's premier league. It is really an achievement for this club. After ten years in the premier league, through the think and thins, due to financial reason. FNB, have offered them sponsorship, it was joy all over the town and the players. FNB became the first company to sponsor this strong team in the year 1975.

Best Moments for Oshakati City:

This has been the best of bests, they have contributed positively to the Namibian national team, producing some of the national team best players, such as Benson Shilongo, KasKas Angula, Elifas Shivute and alot more.


Stadium:

These team have a new stadium, that was build over 3 million Namibian dollars in the year 2010, and its named after a village close to oshakati, which is Embandu Football Stadium. This is the home field for the club, and every team coming to that stadium grantees a defeat as its known as "the slotting point".
