Brandy Weigers (born 1965) is an American-Canadian applied mathematician and Professor and Chair of Mathematics at the Central Washington University.

Education and career

Wiegers currently works as an Associate Professor at Central Washington University in the Mathematics Department.[1][2]

Wiegers earned undergraduate degrees in Biological Systems Engineering and Mathematics at the University of Idaho.[3] She then went on to receive her PhD in Applied Mathematics at the University of California, Davis in 2008, working with doctoral advisors Angela Yit Lean Cheer and Wendy K. Silk.[4]

Awards and Honors

Wiegers was awarded the Henry L. Alder Award for Distinguished Teaching in 2020, chosen for her highly interactive teaching style and significant involvement in outreach and mentoring programs for undergraduates.[3][5][6]
