South Essex Astronomy Group
(Web: www.seag.btck.co.uk)
The South Essex Astronomy Group (stylised as “SEAG”) was formed in early 2017 by Emil Bye and Royston Dean as a revival of Royston Dean’s original astronomy class, held at the FitzWimarc school in the 1980s up until the early 2000s.
Royston Dean is a very well known Astronomer in the United Kingdom and he has provided many years of service to schools and organisations with his world famous STARLAB portable planetarium. He had the first one in the United Kingdom in the 1970s, and still has it to this date.
The group aims to provide people in the South of Essex the opportunity to become involved in the world of Astronomy and follow their dream of making observations about the stars.
Regular meetings are held at the Hawkwell Village Hall.
