This happens to be the user page for one named James Michael Patrick, who in certain social circles is known as James, but in most known as Michael. He happens to be attending and studying at Troy University in Troy, Alabama and is currently classified as a Junior. He is pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Political Science in the American Politics Concentration with a minor of Leadership Studies. He transferred to Troy University for the Fall Semester of 2010. Before that time, he studied at Central Alabama Community College in Alexander City, Alabama in order to obtain the requirements for general studies. He graduated high school in 2007 after spending all of his previous education at this point through homeschooling. Because he has a general tendency to do well in his classes and coursework at Troy, his home education was not some lame attempt at a proper education, as is perceived by many he comes into contact with.
Michael is not originally from Alabama but is rather from the great state of Georgia—Columbus, to be exact, where Coca-Cola, the world's most recognizable trademark, was originally formulated; this fact rather goes against the common belief that Coca-Cola originated in Atlanta, a belief that is not true.
Michael happens to have been born of the seventh day of the month of June in 1989. If one writes it out numerically with the date, month, then year, this becomes simply 6/7/89 or "six seven eight nine". However, he prefers a more logical dating system with 7 June 1989. This is the day after the anniversary of D-Day and the same day that Liam Neeson was also born, only thirty-seven years before. Michael is particularly fond of this connection because he admires Liam Neeson as an actor.
Michael happens to be required to have a job in order to survive (like eat and stuff). This job is currently at the Troy Walmart, transferring from the Wetumpka Walmart. He has had to hold a job since shortly after he turned sixteen due to his parents' belief that their children should begin working at this age. He has been told that he is responsible, hard-working, efficient, trustworthy, and a problem-solver on the job. He tends to be frustrated by those people that come to work and do absolutely nothing. He was also involved with the Boy Scouts of America at Troop 2 in Columbus, Georgia, and in Troop 307 in Montgomery, Alabama, and eventually achieved the rank of Eagle Scout.
Michael has the desire to become a public servant in the position of a Senator in the U.S. Congress. He will strive to the best of his ability to make the people of the United States more free, while making them more responsible at the same time. In most aspects of society, the private sector is able to run society far better than the government. The government's roles should indeed be greatly limited to those roles which it is best suited to assume. In short, he describes himself as a Laissez-faire Libertarian. The economy as well as the society should be free. This does indeed place more responsibility back onto the people as a whole, which is something that is generally lacking or missing from the society of the United States. Self-responsibility has the potential for a more thriving economy and society. He further believes in a more state-oriented federal government, meaning that more emphasis should placed from the federal government and onto the states. There are definitely certain aspects that the federal government should indeed control, but because the states are closer to the people both culturally and physically, the states should assumes most of the powers of governance.
Michael has been assessed multiple times by the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator as an INTJ personality type, which was described as "The Mastermind" the first time he was assessed as such. He is a thinker, prefers order, values organization, and enjoys a certain amount of structure. He is also very sarcastic, pessimistic, cynical, and witty. A characteristic that he does not exhibit is empathy. He is rather intelligent, somewhat intellectual, and quite meticulous. He enjoys to just think at times, finds learning new things delightful at times, and continually seeks to improve his vocabulary because he finds words quite interesting. He also finds himself constantly correcting the grammar of other people—audibly at certain times or inaudibly to himself at other times.
Michael also tends to enjoy the study of history. He finds history entertaining, interesting, and enlightening; history is the key to the future.
Michael also enjoys traveling, although his personal monetary fund has been rather inadequate to allow him to travel as much as he might desire. He particularly enjoys visiting historical places. He visited Europe in the Spring of 2007; at this time, he went to Greece, Italy, Turkey, and France. In Greece, he visited Athens, Corinth, Mykonos, Rhodes, and Patmos. In Italy, he visited Rome, Pompeii, and the Vatican. In Turkey, he visited Kusadasi and Ephesus. In France, he visited Paris. There are many other places he desires to visit.
Michael also enjoys viewing motion pictures at certain times. He does have a rather particular taste in this area. Some of his favorite films include V for Vendetta, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, The Little Rascals, Equilibrium, Batman Begins, The Dark Knight, The Lord of the Rings, The Shawshank Redemption, Home Alone, Seven, The Skeleton Key, Gladiator, First Knight, Braveheart, It's a Wonderful Life, The Painted Veil, Eagle Eye, Taken, Beauty and the Beast, and Pride & Prejudice among the many he enjoys.
Michael also enjoys reading, though he does not enjoy this to the fullest extent he desires as his time is rather constrained and limited. He particularly enjoys classics, satire, and fantasy literature. He appreciates the great satire of George Orwell in both Animal Farm and 1984. He enjoys the works of Tolkien, the father of modern fantasy. He admires the various works of Charles Dickens and other classic authors.
Michael has also found that his opiate is music. He listens to music at almost any point in time as he can. He enjoys a wide variety of genres, but tends to find rap, hip-hop, and country rather distasteful. His absolute favorite artist is Muse. Other artists he has a rather strong affinity for are The Killers, Coldplay, Led Zeppelin, Queen, Matchbox Twenty, Snow Patrol, OneRepublic, Yellowcard, Linkin Park, The Goo Goo Dolls, and Jem. He also enjoys various film scores and soundtracks.
