History edit

Africa Integrated Development and Communications Consultancies (AIDEC) Group encompasses several entities, including AIDEC Holdings Ltd. (the parent company), AIDEC Supplies Ltd., and AIDEC Consultancies[15] Int. Ltd. (subsidiaries). The company was founded by Sir Ambrose Yennah [16]who is the CEO and Executive Chairman[17]. The company officially commenced its operations on 15th April 2004, following its registration as a business on 23rd March 2004.

In the pursuit of expansion and development, AIDEC acquired land in East Legon, Ogbojo,[18] on 27th April 2005, with the intention of constructing a fuel station[19] and an office complex, known as AIDEC Plaza[20].

Initially, from its inception in 2004, the company operated from an outhouse situated within the premises of Prof. Robert Yennah[21]. However, significant progress was made in 2013 when the construction of the ground floor and the fuel station was completed. This milestone marked the transition to our current site at AIDEC Plaza.

Under the management of AIDEC Holdings Ltd., the fuel station[22] operated initially under the umbrella of Ghana Oil Company[23] (GOIL) from 2013 until 2020. During this period, it operated on a dealer-owned, dealer-operated basis. In 2020, we transitioned to Total Petroleum[24], maintaining the dealer-owned model but with a shift to company operation. Unlike the previous arrangement with GOIL, Total Petroleum[25] now manages the station under a Lease Rent[26] Agreement, aligning with our strategic objectives and ensuring operational efficiency.

This transition reflects AIDEC's commitment to adaptability and strategic partnerships,[27] ensuring continued growth and sustainability in the dynamic energy sector.

2023 - AIDEC Digital and AI Center of Excellence edit

AIDEC Digital [28]and the AIDEC AI Center of Excellence[29] have made significant strides in promoting the development of Artificial Intelligence (AI)[30] in Ghana[31] and Africa[32]. Here are some of their notable achievements:

  1. Establishment of AI Centers of Excellence: AIDEC Digital has opened its ultra-modern AI Center of Excellence at AIDEC Plaza, East Legon, Accra, with a co-location at Academic City University College[33], Accra[34], Ghana[35]. These centers are a result of a Consortium Partnership between AIDEC Digital,[36] the Institute of ICT Professionals (IIPGH)[37], Ghana, and their International Partners, 7W Artificial Intelligence Company Ltd of Slovenia[38].
  2. Training and Educational Programs: The centers provide both in-person and virtual training, educational programs, and consulting services to organizations and institutions in the private, public, and third sectors. They offer practical knowledge in areas of AI [39]and its applications for agriculture[40], health[41], education[42], fintech[43], mechanical engineering[44], etc.
  3. Value Creation Services: The agreement seeks to equip students with practical hands-on training in Design Thinking, Data Analytics, Machine Learning, Deep Learning, and other advanced technological training in AI to efficiently work in the job market.
  4. Digital Solutions and Services: The Consortium Partners provide top-notch business, educational, and technology solutions and services, including a Massive Open Online Courses[45] (MOOC) platform (Africoursity.org)[46] as a virtual and open educational resource facility, as well as a Schools Management System (SMS), (Aidecia.com)[47] to their target customers in the public, private, and third sectors.
  5. Promotion of Digital Transformation: The Consortium Partnership is a private sector initiative that complements the government's digitalization agenda and that of the African Union (AU)[48] and its agenda for digital transformation under the 4th Industrial Revolution.

These achievements position AIDEC Digital[49] and the AIDEC AI Center of Excellence as leaders in AI development [50]in Ghana[51] and Africa[52], making them strong credentials and marketing tools for the brands.

2021 - Significant Contributions of AIDEC Group to Technology Development in Ghana and Africa Since 2020: edit

AIDEC Group has been actively involved in fostering technology development[86] and innovation[87] across Ghana[88] and the wider African continent[89]. Since 2020, our efforts have been marked by a series of impactful initiatives aimed at driving progress and promoting collaboration within the tech community.

In September 2020, AIDEC Group orchestrated the inaugural "Tech Engineers Round Table," a gathering that brought together leading tech professionals and enthusiasts to discuss key trends, challenges, and opportunities in the industry. This forum served as a platform for knowledge exchange[90], networking[91], and the exploration of innovative solutions to pressing technological issues.

Building on the success of the Tech Engineers RoundTable, AIDEC Group organized the "Africa Digital Forum" in August 2021. Held at the prestigious Best Western Premier Hotel[92] in the Airport Residential[93] Area of Accra[94], this event attracted thought leaders, policymakers, and industry experts from across Africa[95]. The forum facilitated dynamic discussions on digital transformation strategies[96], emerging technologies[97], and the role of innovation[98] in driving socio-economic development[99] on the continent.

In April 2022, AIDEC Group made history by hosting the inaugural "Africa Technovate Awards & Fair 2021[100]" at the auditorium of the University of Professional Studies[101] (UPSA) in Accra[102]. This groundbreaking event celebrated excellence and innovation[103] in technology[104], showcasing cutting-edge solutions and recognizing the achievements of trailblazing individuals and organizations within the tech ecosystem.[105] The Africa Technovate Awards & Fair[106] served as a catalyst for inspiration[107], collaboration[108], and the advancement of technology-driven initiatives across Africa[109].

Through these initiatives and others, AIDEC Group continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of technology[110] in Ghana[111] and Africa[112]. By fostering a culture of innovation[113], collaboration[114], and excellence, we are driving positive change and empowering individuals and organizations to harness the transformative power of technology[115] for sustainable development[116] and prosperity.

2020 – Digital Business Transformation and Strategic Focus edit

In 2020, AIDEC Group underwent a significant transformation in its management structure to realign its focus towards technology development [117]and the expansion of consulting operations[118]. This strategic decision was motivated by the desire to capitalise on emerging opportunities and meet the evolving needs of the market.

Amidst the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic[119], AIDEC demonstrated resilience and adaptability by launching the AIDEC Digital Solutions and Excellence Centre in March 2020[120]. This initiative underscored our commitment to innovation and excellence, aiming to leverage digital technologies[121] to drive growth and enhance operational efficiency[122].

Since its inception, the AIDEC Digital[123] Solutions and Excellence Centre has been at the forefront of advocacy programs within the ICT sector[124]. These initiatives serve to highlight the importance of embracing digital transformation for businesses in Ghana and across the African continent. By aligning with the government's Digitalization Agenda[125], AIDEC aims to catalyze the adoption of digital technologies and empower organizations to thrive in the digital era.

Through a series of strategic partnerships[126], training sessions[127], and awareness campaigns[128], AIDEC has actively promoted the integration of digital solutions[129] across various industries. By fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration, we seek to facilitate sustainable growth and contribute to the advancement of the digital economy [130]in Africa.

Looking ahead, AIDEC remains steadfast in its commitment to driving positive change and delivering value-added solutions that empower businesses to succeed in an increasingly digital world. Our journey of transformation continues as we strive to be a catalyst for innovation and a trusted partner in the digital evolution of Africa's business landscape.
