Chief Human Capital and Corporate Affairs Officer of MTC. Born in Luderitz many years ago. Schooled at Martin Luther High School [1], completed studies in Cape Town and came back to Namibia in Windhoek to venture in his career.

Personal Profile

Ekandjo is inspired by territories that nobody has ever gone into, the no go areas that everybody says that is a task to challenging. Ekandjo is a very creative person who takes on things that nobody has tried before, ventures into territories to make a difference. He would like to be remembered as the man who've done things that others couldn't do, respectful and humble, a man who made a real difference in peoples lives.

Hobbies

Getting a good massage, sitting at home, listening to good music that is Ekandjo's hobby. He loves noise with a purpose.

Energy 100 FM is his favorite radio station , the fact that Energy plays a variety of music. Energy plays music that speaks to him. He would love to do the Breakfast 100, because he thinks its important how you start your day, if you are able to start your day on the good note then you are more likely to be productive during the day.

Career

Joined MTC [2] in October 2008, after 3 years at Shell Namibia. Ekandjo has no particular best moment in his career, but that he is able to make a difference in peoples life's, and the fact that he is able to take people with him wherever he goes. to elevate them in terms of their thinking, idea and making a real difference in their lives.

Community Achievment

Tim Ekandjo launched, the Tim Ekandjo Lüderitz Secondary School Academic Awards at Lüderitz Secondary School. This forms part of his initiative not only to motivate the students at the school, but also to change the students’ attitude towards education and compete fairly to be the very best that they can be. Ekandjo urged the students to work hard as the future of the country is in their hands as young leaders. “In Lüderitz, most of our parents are either unemployed, nurses, tea ladies or factory workers and it is your responsibility to break that cycle, and become something better than them. We should not go and join them and work alongside them in the factories, we should strive to realise our dreams by becoming doctors, managing directors, pilots, scientists and factory managers instead of factory workers and start living our own dreams and not the dreams of others” he said. Top performers from Grade 8-12 will receive cash prizes ranging between N$500 to N$1500 for first, second and third places in their respective grades. Students in the Best Performers category for Commerce, Science and Social Sciences in Grade 11 will each receive a prize of N$1000. The Best Performers in the Commerce, Science and Social Sciences Grade 12 Category will each receive a prize of N$1200. The Best Sportsman and Sportswoman will receive a prize of N$1500 and the overall Best Student in Grade 12 will receive a brand new laptop to the value of N$3500, and tuition fees at a Namibian institute to the value of
