Omungwelume

The village In norther Namibia is named after the vast number of leopards that used to be in the area around the mid 20th century. With the common Oshiwambo being the main language spoken by its inhabitants.

The village has about 5,400 inhabitants. with a high school: [1] and various other primary schools which serves in educating most of the inhabitant learners. Enterpreneurs have established many businesses, with the common sheebens, to mini markets, wholesalers and even miniature internet cafes.

The village falls under the Oukwanyama Traditional Authority and with the help of the government, Omungwelume is soon to depart from having a village council, to a developing town council. This is done mainly by the introduction of increased services like banks, petrol stations, many more high schools, hospitals, more houses etc.

Several houses in Omungwelume are electrified with [2] elericity and [Namwater] rural water and is area that was also affected by the South African War 1966 to 1989 between South Africa and PLAN and later [[1]] (with the [Angolan] government).
