EJ Gertz is an American journalist and author. Currently she is a contributing editor at DeSmog. She has reported on environment, climate, energy, science and technology for HuffPost, Drilled, SIERRA Magazine, Audubon magazine, Reveal-Center for Investigative Reporting, Popular Science, TakePart, The Guardian, and many other publications. From early 2018 through December 2019 she published the newsletter (de)regulation nation: environmental news in the Trump era.

Gertz is the co-author, with Patrick Di Justo, of Environmental Monitoring with Arduino and Atmospheric Monitoring with Arduino, both published by Maker Media (now Make: Community). She was a founding blogger of Worldchanging.com and contributed to the Worldchanging book. She also contributed to The Science Writers' Handbook: How to Pitch, Publish and Prosper in the Digital Age, by the Writers of Scilance.

Gertz is a co-founder and board member of Women Do News, and co-organized the Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Women Do News Edit-a-thon @ Luminary in NYC.
