Retina Display is the name that Apple Inc. has given to it's new display technology first announced as part of the new features of the [iPhone|iPhone 4] on the 7th of July, 2010. It is a screen with pixels smaller than the ones on previous phones (78 micrometers wide according to Apple) which allows for the resolution of items displayed on the screen to be higher than on displays of the same size with wider pixels.
