I'm Elizabeth MacBride -- a freelance journalist and writer/editor. You can find more about me at www.elizabethmacbride.com.
I write a lot about business, investing, and the Middle East. I have a blog on Middle Eastern entrepreneurs at Forbes.com. http://www.forbes.com/sites/elizabethmacbride/#ef0747f71c0c. I like to cover issues and stories that other reporters and news organizations, for whatever reason, don't have the time or inclination to look into. The economics of investing and entrepreneurship in the Middle East is one of those things -- It's important, but it's rarely covered.
This summer/fall, I've been on a six-month paid writing fellowship with the Office of the Quartet, writing six stories about the Palestinian economy for its web site. The Palestinian economy is traditionally one of those areas of news coverage that gets very little attention. As part of that fellowship, Kito de Boer, the Head of Mission for the office, asked me to create Wikipedia page for him (there wasn't one before) and update the pages for the Quartet and Office of the Quartet, so I'll be working on all those things, conforming to Wikipedia guidelines for disclosing conflicts of interest and making edits in the talk sections of the existing pages. I also occasionally help Stanford professors prepare their Wikipedia pages as part of work that I do for them.
