OTHIKA
editOthika is a small village-town located in the Uukwambi area of Omusati region in the Northern part of Namibia. It is approximately about 25 km away on the Western side of Oshakati. Othika is situated in th Elim Constituency and its chancellor is Gerhard Shiimi.
Othika is well known for being the home town/village to prominent Namibian musicians like Mushe [1]1 , Gazza (artist) , Jason Konamba, Dolian and many other under-ground musicians like Samz, Ingo and Duxxa.[2]
Othika has a government clinic which was officially opened by the than Minister of Health and Social Services Libertine Amathila in 2007. There is also a school called Othika Combined School which runs from grade 1-10.
Othika also have a football team called Othika United which was formed in 2011 and is funded by locals like Frans Amakali, Ben Ulenga and Tate Holo just to mention a few. The team is currently fighting their way up into the Namibia Premier League and hopefully they will get there as it is the dream of every Othika United player and management.[3]
othika combined school has been run by one principal for quiet long now.A lady of strength,which people consider a men categorized..she is very strong,most feared,she works with hard core discipline,its because of her Othika combined still still and performing better yearly.She goes by the name HILJA SHIFUGLA-SHIKONGO
