David W. Ward is a physicist at Harvard University. He received his B.S. in Physics from the College of Charleston in 1999 (research advisor: Kristin Krantzman and Jeff Wragg) and his Ph.D. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Physical Chemistry in 2005 (research advisor: Keith A. Nelson, thesis committee: Robert W. Field, Keith A. Nelson, and Robert G. Griffin). His thesis work was in founding the field of polaritonics. Currently he is working in the field of single molecule spectroscopy with Sunney Xie at Harvard University, and theoretical aspects of negative refractive materials with Kevin J.
