Monuments in Timor-Leste
Timor-Leste (East Timor) was a Portuguese colony before 1975, under Indonesian rule in 1976-99, under UN administration 1999-2002, and then regained its independence. The country is home to a number of monuments and memorials that commemorate aspects of its past and aspirations for a future that centres human rights.
