Biography and performance

Saxophonist, composer, band-leader, actor and teacher. Studied saxophone with Jimmy Heath, Joe Allard and Les Scott, and acting with Mira Rostova. Performs in Matt Darriau's Paradox Trio. 1986 - joined the Lounge Lizards
1987 - co-founded Jazz Passengers group (with Curtis Fowlkes)
Duo project with keyboardist Anthony Coleman. Played in Mark Ribot's Cosmopolitans, with Charles Earland, and with the Shirelles.

Nathanson has acted in films by directors Jim Jarmusch, Chantal Akerman and Elaine May. Performed in Peter Lilenthal's children's film, Wasserman.
