about Omuthiya edit

Omuthiya is a small town situated in the oshikoto region province of Namibia and another name camerothorn tree . It was established to be a town in 2008. from ondangwa, oshakati and tsumeb, among other places. Omuthiya is known for its spectacular market and wonderful climate; it is one of the most picturesque spots in Namibia and has recently been acclaimed as the best upcoming town in oshikoto.There are other various establishments offering accommodation, including bed & breakfast, self catering, lodge, backpackers and farm guest houses in the surrounding area. There is often live music on the weekends. There are a few private information centers run in the town where more information can be found out.[1]

In Oshiwambo, the language of the Ovambo, the town's name means "that which is in camerathorn tree", although some believe that the name (omuthiya) was used to refer to the many camerothorn tree that they were there. omuthiya is located near the B1, Namibia's main highway, which stretches from South Africa through the capital Windhoek and on to the Angolan border.

Healthy and education at omuthiya edit

Local and national businesses, financial institutions, government departments and property developers are flooding to the strategically located town. The Town Council has engaged several contractors to service tracts of land for housing and business. and there is ekulo senior secondary school wich have grade 8-12 with good education.

Economy and Development edit

Omuthiya features a shopping centre, a large open market, fast food market and several tourism facilities. Many local authorities for the Oshana and Oshikoto regions are placed in the town, e.g. bank,policie and shopping mall. omuthiya remains an important transit point for Owambo contract workers going to or coming from the copper- and lead-mining town of Tsumeb, 170 miles (274 km) southeast. Moreover there is a 53 Battalion HQ at omuthiya. There are several schools in the town, among them ekulo senior secondary school Senior Secondary School. Some schools extend farthest from the town - for instance oshikota Senior Secondary School. Since independence, the government has settled up an industry in the north, to create jobs and improve the poor infrastructure. Heroes day was celebrated
