Douglas B. Larkin is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Curriculum and Teaching at Montclair State University in Montclair, NJ.

He received his Ph.D. in Teacher Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. His current research concerns preservice teacher learning in teacher education programs, particularly in regards to the preparation of science teachers for racially and ethnically diverse classrooms.

He received his B.S. and teaching degree from Trenton State College in 1993, and served as a high school physics and chemistry teacher for ten years, including service as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya and Papua New Guinea. He received his masters degree in multicultural science education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2001. His research interests include teacher education, science education, and multicultural education.
