100% looks like we are going to have to make a revision to how the rounds will work (due to numbers). Here's what I'm thinking.

Round 1: No one gets eliminated. This way, if anyone signs up after October 1, they won't be at a disadvantage. But the real point of this is that it will allow us to divide everyone into groups equally. Now there is two ways we can go about doing this:

  1. Say we have 24 participants. Round 2, would have 6 pools of 5, so we take the top 6 and throw them into one pool, places 7-12 in another pool and so on.
  2. Take the top 6, put one in each pool, take 7-12 and put one in each pool, etc.

Round 2: So we still have 24 people. We'll cut down to 12. Top two from each pool move on.

Round 3: 2 pools of 6. Top 4 from EACH pool move on. (Total of 8 people move to Round 4).

Round 4: He is where we can have fun! Now we do one-on-ones! We do something like this (each round lasts 2-3 weeks?):

For the people eliminated in the quarter finals, we can set up a 3rd place competition (in other words, it takes two loses to be eliminated):

And this will bring us to the middle of March 2015. So it all works out really.

Ya, I took this idea from 2008, but it could work and be fun...at least for me!
