The Fennec Fox (Vulpes Zerda) is a crepuscular, small fox species. It is known for its unusually large ears. These ears help the fennec fox by locating large predators and prey, they are highly sensitive to sound, and they can make their ears rotate 180 degrees which pinpoints the location of the predators and prey.

Fennec Foxes have a lifespan of 10 years in the wild, and 14 years in captivity with great care. Fennec fox's lifespans may vary depending on their condition.

History

Fennec Foxes are native to the Sahara Desert and Africa. Fennec Foxes have been around humans for thousands of years. In Ancient Egypt, Fennec Foxes were commonly kept as pets because of their beautiful appearance and ability to hunt rodents.

Diet

Fennec Foxes are omnivores, which means they eat plants and animals. In the wild their diet consists of insects, small rodents, birds, lizards, and fruits. They can also be known to eat Eggs and small mammals.(Squirrels, Rabbits ect..)
