Mery Rose is an American skydiving athlete. She is a USA Team member with several world awards and world records in classic parachuting (style&accuracy) and group diving. During the course of her career she won 148 titles. In the last 37 years as a competitive skydiver she has gotten several medals; having a big list of achievements including 29 years record holder; 5741 jumps and 60 hours of free fall badge. She also has 4 cutaways (parachute malfunction) [1].

Mery Rose is a dual citizen of Brazil and United States. She was born on April 30, 1954, in the small city of Timbiras, Maranhão State, Brazil. Daughter of Francisco da Costa Araújo (in memory), and Raimunda Soares de Araujo, a High School teacher. She had only one child (with her first husband and divorced); Eduardo Castelo Branco Junior, 39 years old; Baloné franchises shopping stores owner.

Early life edit

Mery Rose made her first jump on February 02, 1974, after she found out about a skydiver course at the Military Police Academy in Teresina, Piauí State, Brazil (even she was a civil). For the past 21 years she has been living in San Francisco, California.

Career edit

Mery Rose was a 11-time Brazilian style & accuracy champion with the objective of coming to North America to train with the U.S. Parachuting Team. She said. In 1990 she moved in to USA with the objective of being a world champion, something she was later able to accomplish !

In 2004, after 30 years of parachuting, she made the USA Team and represented the USA at the World Cup, in Stupino, Russia. In Stupino she had her personal best: scored a 10 centimeter total for 10 jumps. A one-centimeter-per-jump average is considered a world-class performance that helped the USA Team to third place.

In the summer of 2008 she earned a spot for the World Parachute Championship, competition in Lucenec, Slovakia, and became a World Team Overall Champion. USA won the bronze in accuracy and silver Overall.

Personal life edit

In 1969, with the age of 15, she married Eduardo Castelo Braco; LP- Long-playing Records Store Owner. He is the father of Eduardo Castelo Branco Junior. In 1997, with the age of 42, she had her second marriage; with the American Sean R. Rose; Water Engineer.
