I'm a Singaporean of Chinese descend, and my interest in Chinese history goes back to my childhood. Unfortunately, growing up the sort of 'Chinese history' (i.e. modern secondary sources) available in the Chinese mass market is heavily laced with propaganda and modern assumptions, while good books available to English readers are few and far between.
I'm not a professional historian, but I've taken enough history classes in school to know that there is no such thing as a truly "objective" view of events, still, I hope in some modest way to contribute to a more even handed approach to the articles on Chinese history here on the Wikipedia.
