Francisco de Asís Palacios Ortega, known as El Pali (Sevilla, Spain, 22 May 1928 - Sevilla 1988), and nicknamed "El Trovador de Sevilla" ('The Troubador of Seville'), was one of the most popular singers and composers of flamenco sevillanas during the second half of the twentieth century. He wrote more than 200 songs and made more than twenty records 1. He was one of the earliest soloists of the sevillana genre, which until then had been dominated by groups. 2
