Dorothy Ferary also known as D was born in Rumbai town, Riau province, Indonesia. D later added 'Dina' as her middle name at the age of 13, when her pastor gave this as her baptist name. D spent her 12 years of schooling in Cendana Rumbai school, which was a school for the children of Caltex's employees. D has been active in extra-curricular activities in her school since her 3rd year of elementary school. Her passion in writing led her to be a journalist at RETRIF Magazine while she was in high school. In 2004, she received the award of potential amateur poet from the International Poet Society.

While studying in INTI International University College,Malaysia, D was active in representing INTI in local, state, national, even international events. Some of her contributions were the Malaysian Book of Records for Non-Stop Road Relay and the ssingapore-Malaysia AIDS Day Celebration. D was the secretary for Indonesian Student Liaison Committee, Vice president of INTI Hostel Board, and was the President of INTI United Nation Club.

D did her exchange study under the Linneaus-Palma scholarship at Jönköping International Business School of Jönköping University, Sweden. During her six months exchange study, she was active in extra-curricular activities. She was the PR for the Asian Committee, part of JUNITED (the school magazine), A member of Raslatt Housing Committee, as well as the designer and layout coordinator for the International Year Book of the school. Furthermore, she was also working at the Marketing Office of the school during open day.

D completed her studies in the area of business administration study from the [University of Hertfordshire] in 2007. At the same year she was also appointed as the Secretary General for the first ever Kuala Lumpur International Model United Nations. She presented her paper titled "Factors that Determine the Quality of Malaysia's Institution of Higher Learning in Student's Perspective" on the International Teaching and Learning Conference in Malaysia. She was the youngest presenter at the confrence.

in late 2007 - mid 2008 D lived in Hook, (United Kingdom) as an au pair to a South African - British Family. Her passions towards children had grown since then. She returned to Indonesia in May 2008 and worked as a Customer Relations Manager in a company which supplied products from Japan.

Feeling the "urge" of going back to the Education area, D left her job and worked as a primary school teacher. Besides that D was also taking a side job as a private English instructor for a Singaporean-Based Company.

In 2010, D joined inlingua International Indonesia as a Project Coordinator and currently is positioned in Duri, Riau province.

D could not mention all the books that she is inspired by... she has a very long list for this!! D loves book so much ( but she is not a book worm though!). Her favorite dating place is to be said the library. D thinks that a couple reading book together in a library is a very romantic thing. (No, she is not a nerd!).
