Arelious Walker, D.D., was born February 19,1931, to the parents of the Seneca, Cherokee Tribe, an Indian Nation. Dr. Walker holds an Honorary Doctrine of Divinity and currently serves as Sr. Pastor, and Chief Executive Officer, (C.E.O) for the True Hope Church Of God In Christ in the World Class City of San Francisco, California, where a street, Arelious Walker Drive,is named in his honor. Dr. Walker also serves as the founder and CEO of several separate non-profit organizations such as Bay View Hope Community Development Corporation where both social and spiritual components meet specializing in rehabilitation thru Christ our Lord. There are other components which include reaching out transforming the lives of; men, youth, young adults, homelessness, addictions, and veterans.

Background and Education

Arelious Walker was born in Atlanta, Texas in the United States of America. His mother Gertha, Goree of the Cherokee tribe, married at a very early age. His father was a poor share cropper, named Barrix Walker. His mother; dropped out of school, bore two children, Arelious a son and Alma a daughter however, the couples explosive relationship forced her to flee the state leaving her small son behind to be raised by his grandparents. As a toddler he suffered, malnutrition, as a young child he encountered racism becoming a young man he endured poverty. Evolving as a humanitarian he vowed with incite, not to let it make him bitter but better, this shaped his future. His education included attending Panhandle High School afterword being of age he; joined the army, toured Europe, taught himself German then returned to the states where he graduated Barber College. Later becoming an entrepreneur, Sunday School teacher. His faith excelled and with a strong conviction he became and eloquent orator,in time a Executive Television Producer, Televangelist and gifted Pastor which overflowed as a marriage and drug counselor through the ministry of reconciliation to God through acceptance of Jesus Christ, the result, many souls have become pillars in their community and are pastors their own congregation, raising their own families and church families and have positive influences in there communities through out the world.

Personal life

Dr. Walker met and married his, "Queen", Hazel Marie Franklin, in 1957 at Love Chapel Church of God in Christ, a Christian denomination in the city of San Francisco where they where both members. For his 50 plus years of marriage he confesses they are yet on there honeymoon. His words of wisdom for a happy marriage is simply, "Don't take all the honey off the moon". They have four daughters, "Princess Debra, Terry, Tania and Tachina", and one "Prince", D'Andrei.

There are many tapes, videos and documentaries of his life's mission and ministry, many contributions that depict more than 40 years of healing spiritual brokenness including, excerpts which aired on radio and television, including the telecast "Gods Word of Ministry", that span though-out the continents of North America, Africa, Asia and Europe.

Awards and Honors

Dr.Walker has received numerous honors and many awards over the years in addition to his honorary doctorate degree from Trinity Bible Seminary. He has been a member of many religious community boards and organizations including adviser to the Second Assistant Bishop and C.E.O. of the Churches of God in Christ, Incorporated,throughout the world, Bishop Jerry Macklin. He works along side Bishop Bob Jackson founder and Pastor of Acts Full Gospel Church of God in Christ in Oakland California. He was appointed Chaplin of San Francisco and San Bruno County Jails by Sheriff Michael Hennessy and launched several prison and penitentiary ministries. There are several murals throughout the city of San Francisco which depict Dr. Walker. The Honorable Mayor Frank Jordon issued a declaration on May 12,1993, declaring, "True Hope Day", in the city of San Francisco(via Dr. Walker). Inducted, he became a member of the distinguished San Francisco Council of Churches. He was honored by The Lite aka K.D.I.A Radio Station, located in Vallejo California. He was chosen as one of ten, Most Influential African Americans in the Bay Area" and given the Unsung Hero's Award by City Flight News Magazine. A street in the city of San Francisco is named in his honor, "Arelious Walker Drive", located in the BayView Hunters District. A short-bio is honorably written of him appearing in Oxfords' Who's Who. The Sun Reporter News Paper reflects many efforts of Dr. Walker works to create equality, and hope in addition to featuring him in their Black History Month edition 2011. His community outreach effort include partnering with Dr.York and the San Francisco 49er's for a brighter tomorrow.

Later career and health

Dr. Walker authored the book, In Jail With God, which became required reading at Oxford University. He has written numerous of self-help pamphlets and witnessing tracks. He has met with Presidents and has attended The National Prayer Breakfast aka The Fellowship, The Family. A yearly event held in Washington D. C., hosted by members of the of the United states Congress and organized on their behalf by the The Fellowship Foundation, a Christian organization, initially called the Presidential Prayer Breakfast,the name changed in 1970 to the National Prayer Breakfast. They gather faithfully encouraging and praying with and for our leaders and the healing of nations. Dr. Walkers eternal flame and saying is, "Learning God's word is exciting but living God's word is much more exciting". He accredits his years of health and wellness without medication to rising early in the mornings at 6:00 a.m., walking, while meditating on the excellence of God in pray. He is humbled that in his later years he can still out walk most most young people. He has tried semi-retirement but says, "God keeps giving me strength to continue the ministry; run the office, advocate for humane rights and go in and out of City Hall the Governors offices. God has given him the love of family, and the prayers of many.
